Olde English Bulldogs - the beginning

My father wanted a dog and I had a newborn at the time. I wanted loving and loyal companion with a stable temperament that could be trusted around my child and my Dad just wanted a dog.
I had remembered hearing that Bulldogs were fantastic with children so I began to reasearch the Bulldog. If you are beginning your voyage as I did you probably are finding so much information that it's hard to understand what is fiction and what is truth. I love the internet and it is a wonderful tool but it is also filled with people marketing products in order to sell puppies. I began looking for Bulldogs closer to home (here in Florida). It wasn't long into my search that I started finding quite a bit of English Bulldogs that were sick and in rescue or shelters. (now Bulldogranch gets these dogs and rehomes them) In further research I learned more about the breed and began to realize the English Bulldog requires special and constant care. The care depends on the Bulldog, remember there is wide variation out there. If your being told they don't have issues I urge you to do further research and not to go on my word alone. I yelled to my wife... I found the dog for Dad! Now off to find a reputable Olde English Bulldog breeder- this should be easy right? WRONG!!!
Oh how I wish that was the case. I started viewing Olde English Bulldog Breeders on the internet and that just added to the confusion. They all looked very different, some big, some small, some fat and some tall!!! I'm no Dr Seus..

Olde English Bulldogs were everywhere and so many different registries how could anyone know the truth? I had to dig deep and get back to grass roots and figure out the fact from fiction and while doing so my father didn't want to wait. Most people wont and in this information generation we want things yesterday so I found a dog that I was told traced back to my books original founder that 3 hours from our location and I bought this Olde English Bulldog for Dad and if I only could take that day back.

She has tons of problems and I was lied to- she wasn't from the original stock of Olde English Bulldogs she was a hodge podge of mutts. I paid quite a bit of money for her. She has wry jaw a leaky eye and mange... these are a few problems.

I got even I did the work and pulled down some of the best dogs that had lineage that went back to the creator David Leavitt and brought them down to Florida. I did not want what happened to me to happen to others. I cannot stop it, however, I can breed the best bulldogs here for people if they want quality. I was lucky enough to have a fine dog (Bozz) turn out good enough to be studded and luck graced me with some breed quality females. The rest is Bulldogranch history, the proof was in the dogs and I was totally happy. These were the dogs that exceeded expectations and I'm confident they will exceed yours should I decide to sell a pup to you. I will not just hand pups out to anyone, there are plenty of people that would love your money. If your looking for cheap, inexpensive bulldog variants my dogs aren't for you. Just search on Olde English and you'll find plenty of bad dogs for the pickins.

The Olde English Bulldog we produce doesn't grow on trees they are the elite cream of the crop. One look and you will see. The people I sell to are intelligent they don't get conned because they do research they understand there is a difference and want the best from dogs that go back 35 years of selective breeding. Our pups go to the best people (best dogs best people) I like to say "People who love their animals and want to do things with them, they are not house plants." These are highly intelligent Bulldogs as they were meant to be before Show Clubs modified and destroyed them to the point where they are a mess. We participate as our dogs are American Rare Breed recognized and you will not find that with the others. If they tell you that means nothing they are lying and will say whatever to take your money.

The best way to tell you about Bulldogranch is to tell you what Bulldogranch WILL NOT EVER DO. We are bringing integrity and honor back to breeding where it belongs. You may need to wait and get on our lists but isn't it worth it for quality and integrity? Paper registries are just that, registries popped up all over because the OEBKC and the true bloodline registries (ARBA) would not register the fake dogs. If your dog isn't OEBKC registered it isn't and will not be able to be shown or registered in the AMERICAN RARE BREED ASSOCIATION.
Think hard, long and be patient when you want quality. You have the right to be treated fairly and honestly accept only the best.
